Fundraising...What to do
I am facing the dilemna that many parents face I am sure. How much fund raising do you let your child do. I feel like on occasion we are constantly asking for money from friends and family. I have so far decided to put my foot down this year and let him only do the scout ones. But I am pretty sure once his school does theirs he will convince me to let him do a little bit. So if anyone has any ideas on how to handle this let me know.... I know it is important and it goes for a good cause. But I also know how tight money is in my household, and how hard it is to say no to a cute 8 year old boy.

Night before School starts
He has spent the last few days totally excited about school starting. I mean really happy about it! He got his clothes ready he helped put his name on everything and get it in the backpack. He wanted to make sure I would be there (since it is a half day) to take him out to lunch.
THEN....tonight came around. He has been crying for an hour now. Uncontrollably most of the time. When I ask him what's wrong there is a whole list of things:

- Missing Grandma
- Scared there might be a new "mean" person in his class
- Afraid of how loud the toilet flushes
- Leaving Sparkles
- Afraid if he asks a question he will get a "B'

It all takes time
I keep logging on and reading the blog posts by friends and family. It seems we all have the same ideas. These are for us to remember the good and the bad, to journal our journeys. So following suite that is what I am going to try and do. At some point I might update the past months, and provide pictures but for now....
One year ago today...sitting on the recliner next to Grandma. Praying that she could be out of pain. I know I was also praying for her to heal. Even though I knew that wasn't possible. I didn't want her to be in pain anymore. I didn't want to have to increase her morphine dose. I didn't want her to struggle to breath. I just wanted her to find peace. She was the most amazing Grandma anyone could ever ask for! I want to celebrate my memories of her, and all the wonderful things. But tonight, I find myself not able to concentrate, crying. and just plain MISSING HER to the core. Tomorrow marks one year she has been gone. One year too long. Every time I close my eyes I see Grandpa standing over me saying "She is gone" and then crumpling. I know that dealing with grief is a personal thing and that we all deal with it differently. So I am not burdening my family with my sorrow at this time.
I wish I could just hold her one more time! Give her one more kiss! Hear her say "I love you Hank".

Thankful
Today's post won't be a picture. Only a short list of a few things I am thankful for:
Family
Traditions
A home to come home to
A car to drive home in
Hank to cuddle with on the couch to end the day!
